Center for Space Environment
Research and Forecast (CSERF) is
set up in November 10, 2003, of
which the aim is to effectively rally the
superior forces in space environment
fields in Chinese Academy of Scienc-
-es (CAS), so as to provide space
environmental protection for China's
space science and technology activit-
-
ies, improve the level in space scie-
-
nce services of CAS, promote the re-
-
alization of the complete value chain called "detection-research-applicati-
-
on" in space environment science
fields in CAS, and make a major
strategic contribution to the country's
economic construction and aerosp-
-ace industry.
Linked with Center for Space Science and Applied Research (CSS-
-
AR) of the Chinese Academy of
Sciences (CAS), CSERF is establish-
-ed by six organizations , including
CSSAR, the National Astronomical
Observatories of CAS (NAOC), Wuhan
Institute of Physics and Mathematics
(WIPM) of CAS, the Institute of Atmos-
-pheric Physics (IAP) of CAS and the
University of Science and Technology
of China (USTC). CSERF is primarily
engaged in application research and
services, such as space environment
monitoring, prediction, effects analysis
in space environment research and
application fields, and so on. The main responsibility of CSERF is to
coordinate, combine and organize the
relevant processions in space enviro-
-nment research and application fields
in CAS, make efforts to undertake
major tasks of the national space
environment research and application,
positively launch research in space
environment prediction and effects
analysis, develop technology in space
environment application, and serve......

SPACE ENVIRONMENT SITUATION |
|
|
| Updated:2012.01.29 01:42 UTC |
Forecaster:017/020 |
Space Environment Summary |
| During the past 24 hours, solar activity was low, with one C-class X-ray flare produced. Region 1402, which produced two solar proton events during the past several days, has rotated out of the visible disk. The greater than 10 MeV solar proton event was still in progress and reached a peak of 796 pfu. The geomagnetic field was quiet. |
Space Environment Forecast |
| Within the next three days, solar activity is expected to be low. The greater than 10 MeV solar proton event is expected to continue for two days. Due to the possible glance of the coronal mass ejection associated with the X1.7 flare observed on 27 January, the geomagnetic field is expected to be active on 30 January, mainly quiet for the rest times. |
