CSERF
Center for Space Environment Research and Forecast (CSERF) is set up in November 10, 2003, of which the aim is to effectively rally the superior forces in space environment fields in Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), so as to provide space environmental protection for China's space science and technology activities, improve the level in space science services of CAS, promote the realization of the complete value chain called ¡°detection-research-application¡± in space environment science fields in CAS, and make a major strategic contribution to the country's economic construction and aerospace industry.

Linked with Center for Space Science and Applied Research (CSSAR) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), CSERF is established by six organizations, including CSSAR, the National Astronomical Observatories of CAS (NAOC), Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics (WIPM) of CAS, the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP) of CAS and the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). CSERF is primarily engaged in application research and services, such as space environment monitoring, prediction, effects analysis in space environment research and application fields, and so on. The main responsibility of CSERF is to coordinate, combine and organize the relevant processions in space environment research and application fields in CAS, make efforts to undertake major tasks of the national space environment research and application, positively launch research in space environment prediction and effects analysis, develop technology in space environment application, and serve the national economy and aerospace industry.

According to CAS¡¯ leaders¡¯ spirits in integrating persons with abilities, observation equipment, data resources and accumulated research advantage in space environment research in CAS, as well as strengthening the overall advantages in space environment in CAS and the spirits in striving for the major projects of the country, CSERF has positively launched the work and already achieved initial results.
